The time I ignored competition
One of the dumbest ways I lost money on Amazon was when I completely ignored my competition. I thought I had a unique product and didn’t bother to research what other sellers were offering. Turns out, there were already several established sellers selling the same thing at a much lower price. I struggled to compete and ended up lowering my price so much that I barely made any profit. Lesson learned: always analyze your competition before jumping into a new product.
The time I overlooked Amazon fees
Another time I lost money on Amazon was when I overlooked the fees. I didn’t realize just how much Amazon takes in fees – referral fees, fulfillment fees, storage fees – they all add up quickly. I thought I was making a decent profit on a product, but after factoring in all the fees, my profit margin was basically non-existent. It’s important to calculate all the fees before setting a price for your product to ensure you’re actually making money.
The time I rushed product sourcing
I also made the mistake of rushing through the product sourcing process. I found a supplier with a good price and quality product, but I didn’t take the time to properly vet them. Turns out, the supplier had a history of delivering late and subpar products. I ended up with a bunch of negative reviews and had to deal with refunds and returns, ultimately losing money in the process. Take your time when sourcing products and make sure you’re working with reputable suppliers.
The time I ignored customer feedback
One of the biggest mistakes I made was ignoring customer feedback. I thought I knew what was best for my product and didn’t pay much attention to what customers were saying. Turns out, there were some issues with the product that I could have easily fixed if I had listened to customer feedback. By ignoring their input, I lost out on potential sales and had to deal with a lot of negative reviews. Always listen to what your customers have to say and use their feedback to improve your product and business. It can save you a lot of money in the long run.
